Happy Birthday SARAH!

Sarah couldn't wait to turn seven today. She was so "over" being six and knew that seven was just oh so much more cool. We do friend parties every other year and this year was her turn to celebrate with friends. After much deliberating, she decided on a garden party theme. The invitations were little seed packets with the info printed on them and filled with seeds (Nerds candy). Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate today, so indoors it was. The girls potted their own flower and painted a butterfly to put in their pot. They dug for bugs and worms in the garden (paper clips and rubber bands in a bowl of rice...blind folded). They also took turns unwrapping layers of wrapping paper with garden gloves and tools to reveal a little surprise (a "thank you" of sidewalk chalk). The girls ate finger sandwiches and flower cupcakes. I think Sarah had a wonderful time and really relished her day in spotlight! Mom had lots of fun putting this together, but will be going to bed early tonight! :)

(sorry about the lame photo placement...any tips? The layout options are so limited grrr..)

It is even more stinkin' cute than you described!!!!!!!!! Love every little detail!!!! Happy Birthday Sarah! I can't believe you are seven. It seems like just yesterday that grandma and I were putting up a "It's a Girl" sign in the front yard the day you were born!!! I love you all :)!!!!!

Oh my gosh! How cute is that! You are Martha incarnate! I love everything you did. You are so crafty and creative. I bet Sara loved it and appreciated all of your hard work. If doesn't, just know all of your leering friends do appreciate it. We know how much work goes into a little ole' party like that. Well done!

Mia...ohhh no! I did not make the cupcakes...thank goodness! lol I got them at Harmon's. (although one Harmon's cupcakes looked much better than the other location) They only cost $13 (for 14)...less than a cake and you don't have to cut it up and have fights over who gets the flower! lol

It makes me tired to look at it. How cute! I'm sure Sarah loved it. She will probably appreciate it more as she sees the pictures in years to come. I know who to call when I am planning my next party.
