MOM STIRKES BACK

So apparently the spoken word (and oft repeated word) has no effect on my children. As a result this sign will be greeting them as they return home from school today. Maybe the printed word will have more impact. Wish me luck.

I am in tears I am laughing so hard -- mom's around the world would buy that sign, pre-made if available and wouldn't have to change a word! :)

Shay just sent me the link to your blog. I do not know you, you do not know me -- where can I get my sign? Seriously, I need one!

Julie... how funny! I can totally relate. My kids just roll their eyes at me and don't understand why it is a big deal. I'll have to give your note a try. Let us know how it works out.

Glad I could make you laugh...even more glad that you can relate. The sign is only a 2min Word document...describing much of what my house looks like right now. :)

Julie, I didn't know that we had German ancestry.

That is great Julie! I need a sign just like it. Love that talk from Elder Ballard! Kids - clean your room --etc etc. My house is the same.

Julie, That is great! I feel the same way. They all drive me crazy. I may try that. Great talk by elder Balllard huh?

LOL! I say the exact same things! Only I threaten to throw every toy on the floor away if it isn't picked up!

Great sign Julie! I am like you I get tired of saying the same thing and feeling like I am not heard.
It is great to see how you and your family have grown so much since we moved away. We miss your family and both your and Chad's fun personality. Say hi to everyone! By the way it is amazing how big Josh and Andrew are. The fun really is just beginning. :-)

I love the sign. I need one for my house, but unfortunately Tyler (and his guilty friends) can't read yet. I am going to make him listen to the talk by Elder Ballard that told children what they can do to help their mothers. Maybe if I put it on my ipod and play it for him in the car while he is a captive audience then it will work. Yeah right?

You kill me. Is the part that you were telling me about last night the "I love you" part?

LOVE IT! LOVE IT! Please update us on if it worked or not.. i am ready to hang my sign, oddly enough same issues here.. hahah - kids are the same all over i guess haha

Ok, I gathered my kids around the computer to have them read your sign!!! We were all laughing because the issues are all the same at our house!!!! I let them know I am not the only mother that gets frustrated and expects the kids to take responsiblity!! I love it!!! Thanks for the good laugh! oh, and what is up with the garbage! I don't get that either because when we're driving in the car they talk about littering and how bad that is and that you get fined!! (maybe that would work?)

I love the cut off face of Sarah. She is half smiling with food in the corners of her mouth. So cute.

I throw unpicked up toys away all the time. Especially what I call "LPS" so I can avoid cussing by calling them by their full title (little plastic s***).
